Not By Chance!
It wasn’t by chance. Becoming a top developer in Mexico’s Yucatan and Riviera Maya didn’t just happen overnight. It runs through our veins. In fact, years ago it started with my great grandfather. He was involved with the Mexican railroad construction winding through Veracruz and the Yucatan.
Then, my grandfather started developing real estate in Merida. Hotels, social housing, and pro-bono work along with church facilities, schools, and rehab centers. You name it… and he did it. He learned the power of leveraging the equity of one development for another, supervising onsite visits to oversee the construction quality, and having the knowledge to pull it all together to benefit many.
Then my father and his friends came into the picture. We would all go camping along what are now trendy beach zones. Small fishing ports dotted the beaches, roads to Playa del Carmen were almost nonexistent. Camping was like being on a deserted island. Slipping into our swimsuit in the early morning light, we’d head off into the ocean snorkeling and fishing for our next meal. It was a paradise that every child wanted to live.
Who would have known that the Cancun airport would cater to over 25.4 million passengers alone.
Our parents saw the tourist potential even though most people laughed at the idea of investing in such a desolate area.
They started Grupo KAUA, developing several housing projects, thousands of houses, and 10 hotels from Mexico City to the Yucatan. But of course, it wasn’t all rosy.
If you’ve been involved with real estate or investing for any time, you know there’s a time to buy and profit and lessons to learn. Reinventing yourself can make you stronger. After the Mexican Crisis in 1994, my parents did just that and today we use that knowledge to excel in this pandemic crisis.
Joining Forces
Imagine the 1990’s in Riviera Maya. We fell in love instantly with the multicultural town and that “hippish vibe” that is present in Tulum today. We learned valuable lessons passed down through the generations.
Paradise was at our doorstep. Our minds opened to new possibilities.
Our adventures were beginning. We started acquiring buildings the way that my grandfather and father had done expanding to Playa del Carmen. I shared a condo with friends who had the same goals, but we were competing in the same real estate space. Finally, one day we agreed to form SIMCA (SIerraMontalvoCAceres) to build the empire that it is today. That was over 15+ years ago. Although very different, it allows us to provide the best of both worlds to our clients.
We have helped many Mexican and Latin American people. We began developing for the North American investors who dreamed of a second home in a Caribbean paradise. With the growth of the vacation rental platform and the creation of Happy Address Management and Vacation company, we continue to increase with the tourist growth.
SIMCA has received 10 industry awards with over 30+ successful projects completed. We adapt to crises and reinvent ourselves to meet the needs of the changing real estate, business sectors, and tourism industry.
Where is SIMCA Headed?
Change is inevitable. Reinvention is necessary. Here at SIMCA, we evaluate everything before jumping on the next big thing. We know that finding the right developable land is important to provide the most exclusive developments with the highest income potential.
Each project includes an intense environmental impact study that determines the viability of the land preserving the vegetation and trees. 2021 brings new changes. Our campaign is “More than just Real Estate” because we are expanding to industrial, hotel experiences, shopping malls, and more.
With our success, SIMCA brings the best pre-construction and immediately available projects to those that want to grow with us. It takes collaborating for all of us to benefit.
With the knowledge instilled upon us for generations and the collaboration with college friends, we’ve been able to apply the work ethic and deliver golden nuggets of real estate to produce what SIMCA is today.
